Tic-Tac-Toe

Youthful diversion, and an introduction to game theory.

Tic-tac-toe is fun for children, but the game usually stops being played when a few players 'solve' it. Tic-tac-toe has a very limited set of opening combinations, and by the time they are made the winner is already decided (unless someone plays very poorly).

On the plus side, Tic-tac-toe can be used as the base for many other similar games. Sometimes, trying to make your own version of the game and making it fair to both players can be more fun than tic-tac-toe itself.
